Recipient Rights
All recipients have the right:
- To services suited to their condition, provided in the least restrictive setting which is appropriate and available.
- To a safe, sanitary, humane treatment environment.
- To be free from abuse and/or neglect.
- To an individualized treatment plan, developed through a person centered process.
Complaints:
- ALL consumers have the right to file a complaint without fear of retaliation.
- If a Provider/Home staff is given a complaint by a resident, it must be forwarded to the BHPi ORR immediately. (By fax or mail)
- Providers must have complaint forms available for residents.
- Residents can call the BHPi ORR anytime they wish to file a complaint.
Incident Reports:
- Incident Reports document any unusual events.
- Incidents include anything that disrupts the normal routine or program.
- All staff involved in or witnessing the incident must fill out an Incident Report.
- Incident reports must be submitted within 24 hours of the incident to the BHPi Office of Recipient Rights.
